Mª LUISA OSUNA PÁEZ

She has over 20 years’ experience in commercial and contract law, specializing in the areas related to intellectual and industrial property

EXPERIENCE

My experience as a lawyer began over 20 years ago when I joined Cuatrecasas law firm after completing an LLM at McGill University in comparative law and working in the Borden Elliot office in Toronto (currently Borden Ladner Gervais LLP). Being part of Cuatrecasas’ intellectual and industrial property, media and data protection group has allowed me to develop extensive experience in various legal areas that are usually integrated into the same practice group in large firms, including intellectual and industrial property, technology transfer and innovation protection, e-commerce and digital rights, data protection, advertising and image rights, as well as developing extensive experience in supply, agency and franchise agreements and all types of collaboration agreements. My practice includes both drafting and negotiating contracts and the provision of ongoing advice and pre-litigation advice in the above areas as well as in the context of commercial transactions. I have extensive experience in the sport, culture, leisure and entertainment sectors, providing advice on matters such as intellectual property rights, image rights, sponsorship, advertising or trademark licensing, among others, and particularly in the drafting and negotiation of contracts. I also specialize in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and health (life sciences) sectors, advising these industries from both a contractual and a regulatory perspective, with extensive experience, in particular, in advising on the promotion and advertising of medicines and health products, as well as the regulatory and intellectual property issues involved in commercial transactions in these sectors. I am the author of several publications on topics of my specialty as well as a speaker in specialized forums. I am recommended by Best Lawyers for the practices of Entertainment Law, Information Technology Law, Intellectual Property Law, Media Law and Privacy & Data Protection Law.
